The energy at the 2026 ITS America Conference & Expo in Detroit provided a great opportunity to connect with industry leaders. Live from Huntington Place, we introduced industry-first Generative AI capabilities, presented advanced mobility solutions, and participated in expert sessions focused on road safety, connectivity, and intelligent infrastructure to support the worldwide mobility and transportation ecosystem.
As an exhibitor and sponsor of ITS America, the event became the perfect stage for Miovision to highlight how we’re reshaping and modernizing the broader mobility ecosystem. Whether you missed the action or want a quick recap of the major highlights, here is how Miovision drove the conversation in Detroit.
Introducing Mateo AI Studio™, Signal Optimizer, and Controller Manager
Following its initial preview earlier this year, our GenAI Agent, Mateo™, was a central focus at Booth #3009. Mateo marks a massive leap forward in modern traffic management, shifting traffic engineering teams from manual data processing to proactive, evidence-led network management.
To bridge the gap between GenAI-powered insights and secure remote deployment, we highlighted our end-to-end Traffic Optimization solution on the Miovision One platform, pairing Mateo seamlessly with two new critical capabilities:
- Miovision Signal Optimizer: This intelligent application automates the most time-consuming parts of the retiming workflow. Using an AI-based genetic algorithm and the Highway Capacity Manual (HCM) methodology, it ingests geometry, traffic counts, and timing data to generate recommended timing plans tailored to city-specific objectives, like reducing delay or minimizing emissions, while keeping a strict “human-in-the-loop” engineering review.
- Miovision Controller Manager: Built to modernize daily signal operations, this software allows departments to securely manage and deploy timing updates remotely, eliminating traditional truck rolls. Featuring a spreadsheet-style editor and vendor-neutral NTCIP support, engineers can visually compare changes side-by-side, and securely push approved timing plans straight to field controllers.
ITS America also served as the official debut stage for Miovision AI Studio. Integrated into the Miovision One platform and powered by Mateo, AI Studio launches as the industry’s first Generative AI workspace builder for Intelligent Mobility operations. By allowing traffic departments to build custom interactive dashboards and generate specialized reports using simple, plain-language prompts, AI Studio replaces static environments with real-time, customizable workspaces.

Live V2X Demonstrations on Detroit’s Streets
Beyond the exhibition floor, we took our technology directly onto Detroit’s roads. The Miovision Connected Vehicle Demonstration featured a live demonstration of the Personal Signal Assistant® V2X service.
The local media response to the demonstrations was engaging, capturing exactly how this technology interacts directly with the city’s existing traffic network.
- WDIV-TV (NBC): Featured a nearly 10-minute segment reviewing the Audi V2X capabilities live on Detroit’s streets. You can watch the on-street demonstration via the WDIV-TV Audi V2X Video Segment (runs from 21:06 – 30:49).
- WJBK-TV (FOX 2): Featured a spotlight showing exactly how Miovision AI communicates with intersection traffic lights and integrates directly into the vehicle. View the broadcast footage on the FOX 2 Detroit Miovision Feature.
A New Technical Partnership with Aimsun
One of the major highlights of the week occurred right on the show floor, where Miovision and Aimsun officially announced a new technical partnership.
Together, we will combine real-time traffic insights, modelling, and decision-support capabilities to help transport agencies and mobility professionals make faster, better-informed decisions. Marked in person by Matthew Juckes, President of Aimsun Inc, and Miovision CEO Kurtis McBride, this partnership is focused on practical, street-level outcomes: stronger visibility of network performance, better planning, and more effective operations.

Connecting with Michigan Leadership
Among the high-profile engagements throughout the week, our team had the opportunity to chat briefly with Gretchen Whitmer, Governor of Michigan.
Miovision’s Chief Revenue Officer, Lyne Jacques, introduced our Intelligent Mobility platform directly to the Governor, sharing a quick overview of how our software and data analytics support the state’s position at the forefront of transportation innovation. It was a great chance to highlight how smart infrastructure can drive economic growth, improve citizen safety, and optimize traffic networks across Michigan communities.

Bridging Tech and Public Engagement with the “Traffic Light Doctor”
In addition to traditional industry panels, we focused on how modern signal technology impacts the everyday driver. A key highlight was an on-site conversation between Kurtis McBride and Steven Harmon, widely known across social media as the “Traffic Light Doctor.”
As a signal technician turned social media influencer, Steven has built an audience by translating complex roadway infrastructure into engaging, accessible content for the general public. During their conversation, Kurtis and Steven discussed how software-defined traffic updates and tools like Mateo are changing the game for infrastructure health, making it easier for agencies to resolve intersections that frustrate drivers while keeping communities safe. Watch the conversation highlights via The Traffic Doctor Interview on YouTube.

Deep Dives with Executives on the Show Floor
Our team also sat down with transportation media outlets during the event to unpack the overarching strategy behind our ecosystem:
- The Transportation Channel Podcast: CEO Kurtis McBride and CRO Lyne Jacques mapped out how software-defined networks are rewriting the playbook for traffic departments. They highlighted how migrating data infrastructure to the cloud allows regional agencies to scale intelligent systems rapidly, bypassing traditional capital deployment barriers. Listen to the executive recap on The Transportation Channel Podcast.
- Traffic Technology International: Kurtis McBride joined TTI’s Godfrey Hooper to explore the capabilities of next-generation traffic data tools. The interview centered on the integration of kinetic energy analytics, AI workspace customization, and how modern datasets enable operators to confidently pivot from standard reactive signal maintenance to predictive safety interventions.
