Diversity & Inclusion

The Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Committee is a group of volunteers within Miovision working to build an inclusive culture that attracts and supports diversity. Making Miovision welcoming to a diverse employee base isn’t just the right thing to do, it’s also good for business. According to McKinsey & Company, “companies in the top quartile for gender or racial and ethnic diversity are more likely to have financial returns above their national industry medians.” Attracting and welcoming people from diverse backgrounds, with different experiences and points-of-view makes for a better performing company.

Committee Objectives

The Committee aims to support Miovision’s D&I efforts by:

  • Building awareness and understanding: help everyone at Miovision understand the importance of D&I and, more importantly, empowering them to create positive change.

  • Creating psychological safety in the workplace: we want Miovision to be a place where everyone feels valued and where all can share their different perspectives openly.

  • Attracting more diverse talent: finding ways to showcase the workplace we’re creating to attract divers perspectives and talent to Miovision.

Sub-committees:

  • Women at Miovision: building a community of women at Miovision to foster a supportive and motivating work environment.

Committee Priorities – 2021

The committee is focusing on activities this year around three key themes:

  • Diversion Implementation – Benchmark engagement and inclusion with data driven analytics and targets through quarterly surveys to the company

  • Training & Education – Launch unconscious Bias training company wide / maintain consistency and promotion of D&I resource Library

  • Mental Health – The 2021 focus for Miovision’s charitable giving charter will be on Mental Health

Employee D&I Resource Library

In Miovision’s Employee D&I Resource Library you will find a variety of different resources, primarily pertaining to current social issues or topics of Diversity and Inclusion (listed below), submitted for Miovision employees, by Miovision employees. While these materials are vetted through our Human Resources department, they aim to provide an array of different perspectives that are representative of the diverse employee base here at Miovision.

  • Black Lives Matter

  • Disabilities & Neuro Diversity

  • Mental Health

  • General Diversity Resources

  • General Resources for Discrimination and Harassment

  • LGBTQ

  • Women in Tech

You may find that some elements of these materials resonate well with you, while others do not. Our ask, should you choose to consume this content, is that you do so with an open and judgement free mindset as well as an understanding that all materials were provided with positive intent by our employee population.
