Miovision is excited to announce today that Jon Newhard, former CEO of traffic control firm Trafficware, will join Miovision’s Board of Directors as its new Board Chair.
“Jon brings significant market expertise to our Board,” said Miovision Co-founder and CEO Kurtis McBride. “Jon has experience growing software-based companies and has extensive experience in the traffic industry, which is really a unique experience set. His knowledge of customers, partners, and investors will be invaluable to Miovision.”
Newhard led Trafficware from 2013 until 2018, growing the company and leading to its $238 million acquisition by Cubic Corporation. Previous to Trafficware, Jon had senior leadership roles in a number of high-growth software companies.
“Miovision is a market leader. They’ve got tremendous momentum, having raised capital to fund their growth last year, completed their first acquisition of Traffop this summer, and most recently announced their partnerships with GTT and Rapid Flow Technologies. I am looking forward to working with Miovision’s existing Board and management to help Miovision realize its vision of modernizing the traffic industry,” said Newhard.
Newhard will take over as Chair of Miovision’s Board on October 28, 2021, replacing MacKinnon, Bennett & Co’s Ken MacKinnon who has served as Board Chair since 2018. MacKinnon will continue to participate as an active member of the Miovision’s Board.
“I have had the pleasure of working with Ken as Miovision’s longest-serving Board member for nearly a decade, including the four years where he served as Miovision’s Board Chair. I have learned an incredible amount from Ken and am excited to continue to work with Ken in his capacity on the Board,” said McBride.
