Miovision is proud to have been a Diamond Sponsor of the ITS Canada 2025 event, bringing together leading minds in intelligent transportation systems (ITS) across Canada and beyond!
As a company committed to improving road safety, reducing congestion, and fostering smart city innovation, Miovision’s participation in the event highlights our role in shaping the future of transportation technology. It was a fantastic event. Here’s a recap of how it went:
Miovision’s Impact at ITS Canada 2025
The ITS Canada Tradeshow gathered experts, innovators, and policymakers to discuss the rapidly changing transportation systems. As a Diamond Sponsor, Miovision provided a unique opportunity to showcase our latest innovations in the traffic management sector at the conference. Our mission is to create sustainable, safer, and more efficient urban mobility systems. This year’s event proved to be a fantastic platform to highlight the steps we’re taking toward that vision!
Throughout the conference (at booths 29 and 30), Miovision’s team contributed to key conversations around critical topics like Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) technology, smart city advancements, and innovative solutions that help reduce carbon emissions while improving traffic safety.
Key Sessions and Speaking Opportunities
Miovision’s commitment to advancing transportation systems was evident throughout the event, particularly in the diverse sessions led by our team:
- Connecting Canada: A Roadmap to V2X and Increased Productivity
CEO Kurtis McBride’s keynote speech touched on the transformative potential of V2X technology in enhancing transportation systems across Canada. He outlined a roadmap for integrating V2X solutions to boost productivity, improve traffic flow and contribute to the development of smarter, interconnected cities. - Equitable V2X Service Deployment in North American Cities via Aftermarket Solutions. Dr. Jingtao Ma (Miovision) explored the expansion of V2X service deployment in cities across North America, aiming to leverage cutting-edge aftermarket solutions to support safer and more efficient urban mobility.
- Using a Smartphone App to Supplement Physical Detection of Bicyclists. Thomas Bauer (Miovision) explored how smartphone applications can help bridge the gap between physical detection of cyclists and create safer, more bike-friendly cities.
- Building Innovative, Urban Environments.
Introduced by our own Chief Revenue Officer, Lyne Jacques, Timothy Papandreou, the world’s first CIO for San Francisco’s transport agency, led initiatives in smart city development and urban innovation. The focus of his address was on how to drive sustainable change and digital transformation, and this was well received.
As an early participant in AI, he helped launch Google’s first self-driving technology, Waymo. With his hands-on experience, Tim was able to translate complex innovation into practical strategies, including bridging the gap between AI and real-world mobility solutions.
- Results and Lessons Learned from 20 Canadian Road Safety Innovation Labs. Olivia Babcock (Miovision) shared key lessons from Miovision’s work in the final hours of the event. She highlighted road safety initiatives, including smart traffic solutions to reduce collisions and enhance safety for all road users.
Way to go, everyone!
Spotlight on Miovision’s Latest Innovations
At the heart of Miovision’s booth at the ITS Canada Tradeshow, attendees experienced firsthand the cutting-edge technology we are developing to improve urban mobility. Key innovations included:
- V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything) Technology: V2X technology is a critical component of the smart city ecosystem, enabling vehicles to communicate with infrastructure, other vehicles, and even pedestrians to improve traffic safety and flow.
- Green Light Optimal Speed Advisory (GLOSA): This technology helps drivers maintain optimal speeds to reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions, while also minimizing wait times at traffic lights.
- Time-to-Green (TTG): This feature provides real-time information to drivers about the time remaining before the traffic light turns green, enhancing traffic flow and reducing unnecessary idling.
Engagement and Networking Opportunities
One of the most rewarding and exciting parts of attending large-scale events is meeting new people, such as other industry experts and potential clients. We had the opportunity to engage with many new faces at our booth and through the customer reception (hosted by Miovision)!
The Miovision team was on hand to provide insights into real-time intersection and in-vehicle solutions that could revolutionize traffic management and to discuss networking and collaboration with other industry leaders.
