2024 has been a transformative year for Miovison, marked by notable achievements across conferences, product updates, accolades and company growth. From advancing cutting-edge transportation technology to strengthening our workforce, Miovision has upheld its mission to revolutionize traffic safety and urban planning.

Accolades and Acquisitions

We’re excited that our industry leadership was celebrated with multiple prestigious awards in 2024.

Kurtis McBride EY Entrepreneur of the Year

The award highlights McBride’s leadership in fostering Miovision’s growth and commitment to innovation. The recognition reflects Miovision’s status as a leader in the transportation technology space.

Deloitte Fast 50 and Fast 500

We strive to solve real-world problems with our technology, and were honored to be included on both the Fast 50 and Fast 500 lists that celebrate Canada’s fastest-growing companies.

Canada’s Top Growing Companies 

We were included in The Globe and Mail’s Top Growing Canadian Companies list! This accolade celebrates Miovision’s contributions to the Canadian tech sector and our three-year revenue growth of 348%, a testament to the company’s successful strategies in market expansion.

We also acquired Traffic Technology Services and CJ Hensch.

Highlights and Wins From Our Sustainability & Impact Report

Footprint Reduction

Miovision has subleased 15% of its HQ footprint. By October 2024, we’re on track to release 65% of the total footprint, significantly decreasing utility usage.

Specialized Waste Program

The MioHQ (Kitchener) e-waste and metals recycling program diverted 7,220 lbs of materials, including aluminum, tin, copper, and other metals, from landfills in 2023.

Leasehold Improvements

An air curtain was installed in the MioHQ production space, reducing heat loss and natural gas consumption.

HR and Company Growth

In 2024, we continued to prioritize our people and operational excellence. We welcomed 73 new team members (an 11% increase) and onboarded 65 co-op students, to foster future talent! 

Product Updates

Miovision introduced groundbreaking product advancements in 2024, reinforcing our leadership in transportation technology. Here’s a snippet of our 2024 product updates.

Opticom

We expanded integrations with partners, such as Whelen, Swiftly, and Samsara to enhance Emergency Vehicle Preemption (EVP) and Transit Signal Priority (TSP). 

Scout Plus

We achieved international recognition for its advanced data collection capabilities, attracting interest from regions like Europe, LATAM, and the Middle East.

V2X Services

We’re thrilled we partnered with TomTom to integrate real-time mapping data, driving enhanced traffic management and connectivity between vehicles and infrastructure. 

Miovision One

We introduced new applications and the Network Overview feature, elevating platform functionality with tools like Continuous Safety Monitoring and Adaptive Detection to keep transportation and emergency response efficient, reliable and safe.

Conference Highlights

Miovison’s strong presence at industry-leading conferences underlined our commitment to innovation and collaboration:

  • 103rd TRB Annual Meeting: We received the Exceptional Paper Award for “Addressing GTFS Realtime Data Latency to Improve Transit Signal Priority.” We also won Stage 1A of the U.S. DOT Intersection Safety Challenge.
  • Intertraffic Amsterdam: Miovision Scout Plus and V2X technology took center stage.
  • ITS America Conference & Expo (Phoenix): We showcased connected vehicle technology through our TTS acquisition. 
  • ITS Canada (Vancouver): Miovision was proud to be a Diamond Sponsor of the 2024 ITS Canada Annual Conference & Expo, showcasing the shared commitment to fostering and promoting leadership and innovation within the ITS industry in Canada.  ITS World Congress (Dubai): We were thrilled to join global mobility leaders in Dubai, and showcase our innovative solutions including Scout Plus, Opticom, and V2X technology. 
  • FRI and IACP: Opticom EVP solutions were featured, with case studies presented by esteemed partners like Tony L. Watson, Fire Chief of Pigeon Forge Fire Department
